Mr. Laurie has over 20 years experience in cosmetic surgery. After Medical school (1968-1973), his initial surgery training was at various Melbourne hospitals from 1974-1978. then in Plastic Surgery training as follows:
- 1979 at Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit, Melbourne.
- 1980 at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.
- 1981 as Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University and McGaw Medical Centre, Chicago, U.S.A.
- 1982 at Stanford University Medical Centre, Calfornia, U.S.A.
- 1983 at Harvard University Brigham/ Children's Medical Centre, Boston, U.S.A.
- Returned to practice in Melbourne in 1983.
